The storytelling is subtle and patient, allowing the tension to build and eventually build to a terrifying climax.

Horror Hereditary Story Summarized

The story begins with a miniature house made of miniature art. In miniature art, things are made much smaller than the normal size. Now the camera zooms in towards that little house. And we came to know that where this small house is lying, a family lives there. The old lady of his family has died. And now the family is dead. And now his family is going to his funeral. An old woman in the family had a daughter named Annie. Her husband and two children, a boy and a girl. Now Annie's daughter was strange from the start. She used to do strange things as well as do strange things. Like sleeping in a small house even in harsh winter, wearing strange clothes etc. And apart from being a girl, her body was also like that of a big person. Which means she was not normal at all. Now when the family reaches Annie's mother's funeral, there are a lot of strangers arriving there to attend her funeral. Now when Annie's funeral speech was given her daughter made a very strange noise.

Annie wears a unique spiked locket around her neck, similar to the one worn by her deceased mother. This surprises the strangers attending the funeral. In particular, a man smiles at Annie's daughter, and she reciprocates.

Back home after the funeral, the family shared stories about Annie, revealing her talent for miniature art and her constant state of anxiety and grief. Annie's son Peter also behaves strangely, smoking cigarettes and using drugs. Annie's husband is the most ordinary member of the family. However, it is Annie's daughter who is most unique.

One night, as Annie tucks her daughter into bed, the young girl asks who will take care of her after her grandmother dies. Annie reassures him that she will take care of him, being his mother. However, their daughter raises a troubling question: who will take care of Annie after her death? This question scares Annie, but she immediately replies that her brother Peter will take care of her. Annie explains that her mother, the girl's grandmother, loved her very much and even prevented Annie from coming near her during her childhood. He even fed his own milk. The daughter replies that her grandmother wanted a boy but due to compulsion she could not love him.

After putting her daughter to sleep, Annie begins searching through her mother's belongings, and finds a note in which her mother apologizes to her. The note mentions that Annie will be sacrificed, but will receive a reward in return. This message worries Annie.

The next day, while Annie's daughter is in class, a bird hits the window and dies. In the same classroom, Annie's daughter takes scissors and cuts the bird's neck. She puts her head in her pocket and comes face to face with a woman staring at her from the other side.

The family decides to close Annie's mother's room, which is filled with evil rituals and signs of black magic. Annie's husband receives a call informing him that someone has dug up Annie's mother's grave and taken out her body. Annie keeps this information to herself, not wanting to burden her husband with this news.

Annie attends a group session where strangers share their feelings and burdens with each other, eventually becoming good friends. Annie frequents this group and begins sharing strange stories about her mother. She reveals that her mother was a bit paranoid, wanting to put someone else inside her brother, which ultimately led to her taking her own life. Annie's father also died under mysterious circumstances. She also mentions her mother's strange power to control men and how she used to prevent her son Peter from approaching her. However, she allowed her daughter to interact with her mother, potentially making her aware of her daughter's unusual behavior.

One day, Annie's daughter experiences a bright light that leads her to a field. At the farm, she witnesses a man performing an evil ritual. Annie arrives and brings her daughter back with her, interrupting the ritual.

Meanwhile, Peter receives an invitation to a party. Annie sends her daughter with him to ensure that he is not involved in harmful activities. At the party, Peter smokes and enjoys while his sister is bored. She eats dried fruit cake, which triggers an allergic reaction, causing her to suffocate. Peter takes her to the hospital, but on the way their car collides with an animal, resulting in a fatal accident. His sister's severed head falls on the road.

Peter falls into a deep state of shock and grief. He returns home without informing his parents and hides in his room. When Annie and her husband learn of their daughter's death the next morning, they are devastated. Annie continues to cry, unable to recover from the shock. The family behaves strangely and distant, no one talks to each other.

In an attempt to find solace, Annie decides to return to the group session. However, his emotional state prevents him from moving forward.

Drowning in the water. I can understand your pain because I have also experienced it. But I can help you out of this misery. Saying this she gives her address to Annie and leaves. The next day, Annie visits his house and they become friends. In their conversation, Annie tells him that she has been sleepwalking for many years and one day she almost harmed her children. The incident strained his relationship with his daughter Peter. Annie's husband is upset when he sees her creating a miniature painting depicting their daughter's death. Family tensions rise when Peter blames Annie for their daughter's death.

Annie meets the woman again at a store who tells her about a ritual to contact the dead. Annie reluctantly gives it a try and has a harrowing experience. She then advises Annie to perform a ritual to contact her son's spirit. Annie goes to Peter's room while he is asleep and has a dream where they argue. Annie wakes up confused and begins the ritual to summon her son's spirit. Strange things begin to happen and Peter is horrified, causing the ritual to break up. The next day, Annie becomes worried and angrily breaks her little heart.

Strange occurrences continue, such as a picture of Peter appearing in Annie's son's diary and his reflection looking happy while she is serious. Annie tries to burn the diary but ends up in the fire herself. She then goes to a neighbor's house and finds black magic items and photographs of Peter that have been ritually enchanted. Annie remembers that her mother had a similar carpet and finds more suspicious items at her mother's house. He realizes that the woman was betraying him and his mother to the demon of hell. The demon wanted a human body, and Annie's mother was part of a satanic group worshiping the demon. Annie's mother tried to give her body to the demon but eventually took her own life. Now, the woman was behind Annie's body for the monster.

Synopsis: Annie befriends a woman who manipulates her into performing a ritual to give her body to a demon from Hell, just as her mother did. Strange events and tension occur in Annie's family as she tries to protect herself from the woman's schemes.
