The Secret Kingdom (2023) Film Explanation

In this story there was a magical world related to our world. The king who ruled both worlds often imagined things that did not exist, and found happiness in his thoughts. One day, the king became sad, causing trouble and the world began to fall apart. The magical world felt the king's pain and a dark shadow named the Shroud was born, which ultimately destroyed the magical world and separated it from us.

In the present day, a boy named Peter came to live in a new house with his family. Peter was always nervous and scared, constantly imagining things. On the other hand, his sister was always happy and positive. While in a shop, Peter becomes fascinated by a puzzle cube and buys it, unaware of its magical properties.

That night, Peter's mother gives him a compass as a gift, which had belonged to his grandfather. Peter went to his room and started solving the puzzle. His sister wanted the cube and gave him the coins, but as Peter went to pick up the dropped coin, he saw a big animal's eye in a hole in the floor. Frightened, Peter stepped back and suddenly his room began to fall apart. Strange creatures appear, saving Peter and his sister from the demon shroud.

The creatures lead them to a cave where an old creature reveals that Peter and his sister were prophesied to come and save the world from the Shroud. To do this, Peter needed to solve magical puzzle cubes and restore a broken clock. He was given a magical book and instructed to seek help from a mechanic creature.

While trying to reach the mechanic, Peter, his sister, and a creature called Plank fall in and are lost. Planck gave Peter a compass to find his way. They eventually found the mechanic, who initially refused to help but agreed when Plank told him his father had sent him. The mechanic used the puzzle cube on the book, revealing the location of the next puzzle and creating a path.

It is said that when you solve one puzzle, you will know the location of the next puzzle through this book. After explaining this, he gives Peter a small device, a bulb device, and asks him to operate it with his mind and imagination. But before that, Peter has to completely get rid of his fears and read the book carefully to understand everything.

Following the instructions, Peter closed his eyes, shook off his fear, and began reading the book. A puzzle emerges in his imagination and Peter solves it. He discovers that the next puzzle can be found on the grounds of a ruined building, standing beneath a giant eye in the sky. With Plink's help, they reach the ruins and find a picture of a clock with the number 12 on it. Peter has to find the next number, which is 13. He searches the ruins and eventually finds the number 13, hidden in a picture with rats. There's also a small button that opens a secret locker, revealing the next cube puzzle.

As the cube comes out, a large dragon appears, scaring Peter. He hides behind a pillar but remembers that he is a king and kings must be brave. He gathers his courage and confronts the dragon, telling him that he is the king and shows the puzzle cube. The dragon bows and apologizes, and offers to take them to the next puzzle cube location, a temple in the desert.

The dragon turns his body into iron to make a seat for Peter, his sister, and Plink. They reach the temple, which is filled with statues of soldiers made of stone. They enter the temple and encounter a two-headed turtle. The Turtle recognizes Peter as the king but becomes angry at his contemptuous behavior. Peter's sister disagrees with his behavior and angrily leaves the temple.

Peter began to investigate the temple, finding images and stones containing codes. He touches the stones according to the code, solves the puzzle and opens a secret passage. Inside, he finds the next puzzle cube and places it on the book to discover the location of the next cube. However, he hears his sister's screams outside and learns that he and the dragon have been captured by the Army of the Shroud, a large robot army.

The army leader demands that Peter hand over the puzzle cube, but Peter refuses and mentions that his work is incomplete. The leader becomes angry and orders his soldiers to attack Peter. The dragon grows larger in size and fights the soldiers, while Peter uses a device given to him by the Mechanicum to defeat the army. Unfortunately, one of the soldiers succeeds in attacking Peter's sister, turning her to stone.

To save his sister, Peter realizes he must defeat the Shroud. They need to start the clock that has been stopped for years. With very little time left, they set out to find the last puzzle cube located on top of a mountain. They reach the mountain and the tortoise says he feels familiar. Meanwhile, Peter's sister's condition worsens and she is turned to stone.

Peter leaves his sister with the turtle and dragon and goes to find the puzzle cube. He solves the puzzle but discovers that someone has already taken the cube. He feels disappointed and sad and in frustration throws away the magical book given to him by the old creature. He loses faith in everything and believes that he will never be able to do anything right. However, the Turtle remembers that he took the last cube to prevent the Shroud from being found and gives it to Peter.

Peter is happy to find all the puzzle cubes but becomes sad because he no longer has the book. He starts crying and regrets his past actions. The dragon, who can fly, consoles her and goes down to retrieve the book.
