ALITA: Battle Angel  Movie Explanation

Summary

In a post-apocalyptic world, a scientist discovers a robotic girl named Alita in the garbage and cures her. She has no memory of her past and befriends a boy named Hugo. Alita witnesses a murder and becomes a hunter-warrior, fighting criminals alongside the Doctor. He discovers his past and discovers Hugo and Vector's plot to destroy him.

Alita: Battle Angel Introduction

The film is based 300 years after the global conflict known as World War II. This resulted in widespread destruction across the planet. A spaceship filled with individuals from different countries is depicted. They're dumping their garbage on Earth, and one day a scientist finds a robot in the garbage. This was not an ordinary robot but a unique robot of its kind, which is equal parts human and machine. The scientist takes the robot to his home and repairs it flawlessly.

alita's awakening

The next day, the robot, who was a woman, wakes up and is thrilled to have a new body. Then the female robot asked the scientist, "Who am I, how did I get here, where did I come from?" The scientist is unaware of the woman's origins, so he does not tell her anything. However, he tells her that when they found him in the garbage half his body was damaged, but his mind was healthy. Later, they repaired his body, indicating that a new human body had been attached to him. The Doctor then shows her the world, and she gets excited to see the city. He also shows her a glimpse of the spaceship and she asks about it.

meeting hugo

Alita meets a boy named Hugo and becomes good friends with him. They play a game, and Alita captivates the others by playing it well. Hugo later takes Alita to his favorite place, which was the rooftop of a building with a view of the entire city. He tells her about "Sky City", the last city left after World War I. Everyone wants to go there because the upper class lives there while the lower class builds their own world.

Alita's past and the Hunter-Warrior

Alita witnesses a murder in the city and becomes a hunter-warrior, fighting criminals alongside the Doctor. She explores her past, and it is revealed that the human body Alita has adjusted to is the body of the doctor's daughter. His daughter is no more in this world, so he donated her body to Alita. Alita also discovers a plot by Hugo and Vector, who want to destroy her.

Alita: Battle Angel - Part 3

Alita goes to a club with Hugo and enlists all the hunters to eliminate Vector's robots, which had taken the lives of the city. One of the hunters makes fun of Alita's size and her being a "hunter warrior", but Alita confronts him and beats him up. Vector's robot appears and attacks Alita and the two have a tough fight. Alita was torn into pieces and her body was damaged. The Doctor brings Alita's damaged body home, and the Doctor heals that body with Alita's new body discovered from the ship. Alita wakes up with a new body, and Hugo explains that he wants to go to Sky City soon, and they need several people to get there. Alita gives her robotic heart to Hugo, which is very powerful, and Hugo explains that they can win the race game to get the score. Alita participates in the race game, and all the assassins become her rivals. Hugo turns out to be a criminal and the city police arrive to eliminate him, but Alita does not kill him. The hunter kills Hugo and the doctor's wife suggests decapitating Hugo and turning him into a robot. The doctor attaches a second body to Hugo's head and Hugo comes back to life. The Doctor reveals that Vector has betrayed everyone, and Alita goes to kill Vector. Alita restores her memory related to the past, where she was a warrior and participated in that world war.
